1. Sobriety
When did sober become a problem? When you found yourself with no social life that's when it became a problem. Fitness requires determination and consistency, and unfortunately wine and girls' nights out do come as a sacrifice.
2. The need for sleep
You’d think we need more sleep and that we can easily get to bed. And while that's true, it doesn’t mean the rest of our life doesn’t come as a distraction. When you can only get to the gym at, say 10pm because of your commute or work, sleep doesn’t come so easily. For us, it's literally eat, work, gym, repeat.
3. Obsessing over calorie intake
Whether you’re trying to reach a goal weight or just trying to tone up everybody knows that diet is HUGE when it comes to losing pounds and stay fit. Rule: 80% diet, 20% exercise. Don’t judge.
4. Feeling guilty over too much caffeine
OK, having a cup of coffee in the morning isn’t a big deal, in fact, it can even help you lose weight. But when we’re feeling burned out and accidentally binge on one too many, coffee can act as a diuretic (which means it dehydrates you) which is the LAST thing any fitness freak needs in their life.
5. Aches and pains
Every fitness junkie knows what it’s like post-hell-work-out. Getting up the stairs? Only just. Stretching your back? Hurts like hell. Shin splints? Time to see the physio!
6. Getting your friends in on it
Lets be honest, NO ONE stuck to their new year’s resolution of going to the gym more. Don’t believe us... How long did you wait to get on the treadmill last night? Friends always like the idea of joining you on your fitness journey, but the truth is, most prefer to see you suffer.
7. Social media
Everyone loves boosting their ego a bit. Why shouldn’t we share how much we kicked ass at the gym today? The only problem we have is, how many times can you post about your workout before your friends start unfollowing you?
8. Sick of greens
To be honest we’d love nothing more than a LARGE milkshake right now. Spinach, kale, lemon juice and ginger? There’s a limit to everything people.
9. Daydreaming
Those brief moments of serenity you get when you imagine yourself jumping into bed with your duvet, pillows and hot water bottle. Jesus. We’d do ANYTHING.
10. Being your own life coach
‘YOU WILL AND YOU CAN’. Yeah we say it one too many times to ourselves, but how else are we going to stay in good form?
11. Neglected feet
You’d think after all the crap our feet puts up with we’d be willing to pamper them once in a while. Not true.
12. Exercise addiction
Workout withdrawals - they're a real thing. It's like you need sweat and pain to keep you going. It also makes you feel drained and depressed when you take a few days off. First stop - the gym!
