Surprisingly, Geri Halliwell (now Horner) - who was the first one to ditch the band way back when patriotic dressing was considered 'cool' - has spearheaded the 20th anniversary project which sees her reunite with two of the five members, Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Mel B (Scary Spice), in a 40-second clip posted on her Facebook page.
The trio reveal celebrations for the milestone occasion are in the pipeline and we're all invited. Our imaginations have officially gone into overdrive and we can only pray this means they'll be playing at least one 20th anniversary gig (with or without Posh Spice, we're not bothered) 'cos that's what we want, what we really, really want.
Sources have suggested that Emma, Geri and Mel have agreed to play a date in Hyde Park, London, next July. A source told the Mirror: "Mel B, Emma and Geri agreed Hyde Park would be the ultimate way to launch a reunion next July for their 21st anniversary.
"It gives them a year to plan everything and make sure their comeback is spectacular. It would be the most-talked about gig of the year."
