According to Backstreet Boy and zombie slayer AJ McLean, apparently talks for the famous groups of the nineties to join up and perform together have been happening for a while now.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, he said: "The Spice Girls tour has been this idea bouncing around for the past year and a half, and it's something we're still talking about. But we're going back in [to the studio]...to dust off the cobwebs. We're working with a new producer, Jay Cash, who wrote "Sugar" for Maroon 5.
"This is just the beginning phase, but we're hoping to have the album done before our cruise in May."
Could this be BB's big comeback?! We know they've tried a comeback at varying levels before, but this is the first time they've thought of bringing the Spice Girls in for backup! While most of the Spice Girls have kept any knowledge of Backstreet Boys involvement to themselves, Mel B has spoken out about how she really wants to celebrate Spice Girls 20th anniversary somehow, telling American talkshow host Meredith Vieira: "Nothing has been announced, nothing's official. Yes, we are in talks, because it is our 20th anniversary, and I want something to happen - it better!"
"I'm forcing them a little bit - I've been saying it for five years. 'We are reuniting, aren't we? We are? We are? We need to!'"
So if they did pull a McBusted, what would they be called? Backstreet Girls? Spice Boys? They're going to need to think this through. Do you think it's a good idea? Tweet us @sofeminineUK!
