James Corden doesn't do things by halves but even he couldn't have predicted the scenes that'd unfold on his journey to The Late Late Show with the Red Hot Chili Peppers - who just so happen to be one of his all-time favourite bands - recently.
The British export was joined by almost-always-topless frontman Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer but it was Anthony and James (and their naked torsos) that stole the spotlight.
It starts off in typical fashion with James complaining about the "terrible traffic" (#Britprobs) and thanking the band for their company before theyproceed to harmlessly bicker about directions.
The intro sees the Chilis and honorary member James break out into a tuneful version of their 2002 hit-single Can't Stop which bizarrely lends itself to the introduction of Food Glorious Food from musical Oliver. We don't know either.
As the men are chatting, their penchant for 'man-wrestling' becomes clear, prompting Anthony to instruct James to pull up outside someone's house so they can put their skills on show on an unsuspecting resident's front lawn. While the singer lives up to his rockstar reputation, the comedian giggles like a school kid who's been given their week's allowance of E numbers.
The five-strong group belt out three more of the band's best hits - Californication, Dark Necessities and Under The Bridge - before the conversation turns to nudity. Namely, Anthony's obsession for performing sans top which he admits is "natural" and "normal".
Before James can stop him, he starts stripping right before his eyes and before you know it, the two of them plus Flea, are half-naked and singing along to The Zephyr Song and it can only be described as television gold.
