Kim Kardashian’s new diet, revealed to be the Atkins diet, has helped her lose an incredible amount of weight since the birth of her and Kanye West’s daughter, North.
In a tweet sent on Sunday in reply to a fan, Kim revealed her diet plan, announcing: “I’ve actually been doing the Atkins diet & luv it”.
The diet was developed in 1953 and in recent years it's become a celeb favourite, used by Sharon Osbourne and Rihanna, among others.
Us Weekly reports that the Atkins diet has allegedly helped Kim lose 30 pounds, after reaching 200 pounds during her pregnancy due to its high in protein, low in carbs plan.
“She is eating lots of lean proteins, healthy fats like nuts and avocado, carbs, fruits, veggies and cheese,” a rep for Atkins says.
“She wanted to be a healthy, nursing mom and not toxify her milk with her diet or lose weight too quickly. She's been doing Atkins since her doctor approved it at the end of June.”
During her pregnancy Kim admitted that she was careful about eating healthily, telling Extra in March that she munched on carrots and celery with ranch dressing instead of indulging in junk food.
“I have the biggest sweet tooth and I love junk food,” said Kim. “Being pregnant, I don’t like any of it.
“I'm waiting for the moments when someone's like let's go to McDonald's and Taco Bell - that's not happening for me and I'm kind of sad about it.”
Kim also admitted to not being entirely happy with her pregnancy bod, saying: “'I'm not going to lie and be like, ‘Oh, it's been amazing and I've adjusted great.’
“At the beginning it was tough for me when your body changes so much…but once you kind of grasp that and embrace it it's amazing.”
Since giving birth, Kim has been working hard at the gym almost every day, even hitting the gym during her visit to Paris during Fashion Week.
She's been receiving help from Gwyneth Paltrow’s personal trainer Tracy Anderson.
“She's a gorgeous woman,” said the gym owner in September. “I think the reason why the weight is coming off is because she's very connected.
“I went and met little North and Kim's really taking it in stride. She's really connected to the baby, which is what's important. She's focused on the baby and nursing and taking her time.”
