Kanye West lost his mother, Donda West, back in 2007. She died rather suddenly at the age of 58 due to surgery complications. Seven years later, Kanye continues to talk about her, and sing to her, at his concert.
Kanye is known for speaking his mind, particularly at his concerts. The rapper always takes time to talk to the audience at length about what's on his mind, ranting and raving about the media and the world. He got extra emotional at a recent concert in Connecticut, revealing to the audience that his greatest disappointment is that his mother and daughter will never have the chance to meet.
“These past ten years have been amazing. There’s been some ups and downs. I made some mistakes and I’ve made some accomplishments. There’s only one thing I regret. There’s only one thing I wish I could change out of everything that’s ever happened. I wish that my mother could’ve met my daughter."
While on the Ellen show last month, fiancée Kim Kardashian gushed about Kanye as a father to host Ellen DeGeneres. “He is honestly the most amazing dad," Kim said. "He loves her so much. He really is a hands-on dad.”
When he appeared on future mother-in-law Kris Jenner's talk show last year, he spoke about the difficult time he went through following his mother's passing. "There were times ... I would put my life at risk," Kanye said.
"I didn't have something to live for. Now I have two very special people to live for, a whole family to live for, a whole world to live for."
Seems like Yeezus has had a lovely change of heart.
