They’ve had a few rocky patches over the last year, but John Mayer is reportedly looking to make things official with girlfriend Katy Perry.
No one thought Katy and John would last, but the couple have defied the odds and if reports are to be believed he’s keen to put a ring on it.
Close friends of the loved-up stars say that they are expecting a proposal any day now, which is a clear sign of how serious things are between the 28-year-old pop star and her 36-year-old beau.
"Everyone knows it's just a question of when John will propose," a source told Us Weekly.
Perhaps John has suddenly gotten wedding fever from his brother, who tied the knot this weekend at New York's Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club.
The A-listers were there to witness the happy event and although it was Carl's big day, there’s since been speculation that John would follow his bro’s lead and pop the question too.
Katy is already close to the Mayer family, but she sweetened the deal even further at the wedding by reportedly splashing out on "Cristal for everyone at the after party."
She was also allegedly seen shaking her stuff on the dance floor with John’s 86-year-old dad, which will probably win over any man.
Adding fuel to the engagement fire rumours, there are reports that the Gravity singer is eyeing up the Christmas period as the perfect time to propose.
"John wants to do something special probably around the holidays," a source told Life & Style magazine.
"He's been asking Katy's friends a ton of questions," said the source. "There are a lot of options on the table. Nothing is ruled out. It could happen on a romantic getaway or during a family dinner."
Katy and John first got together in the summer of 2012, fairly soon after the Firework singer split from her husband of 14 months, Russell Brand.
Most recently the adorable couple were seen enjoying a romantic trip to Disneyland and yesterday the pair celebrated John’s 36th birthday, with the pop princess sending a rather sweet tweet to her man.
The raven-haired singer wrote: "Happy birthday cutie!!! @JohnMayer." Aww!
