The fabulously flawless singer/actress Jennifer Lopez shows that she’s still (she’s still) Jenny from the Block after fiercely denying ever having had plastic surgery.
JLo defended herself when a British Doctor, who’s listed on Twitter as facial plastic and laser surgeon, tweeted: “These before and after pics of @JLo show many signs of #plasticsurgery – naturally pretty but now looks amazing.”
This was a nice enough tweet, but careful what you say about famous people in an environment where they could actually potentially see what you have written – we feel this every time we want to be mean about Justin Bieber – as occasionally they, and their fans, will have something to say about the matter.
It looks like Jennifer did not hold back, as she shot back: “@DrAyoubi Sorry Sir, but I have never had plastic surgery of any kind. #fact.”
Forever the classy girl, the Maid in Manhattan star was to the point and even respectable – unless she was being sarcastic…cyberspace makes it so difficult to recognise inflection sometimes.
Dr Al-Ayoubi immediately took back the tweet, tweeting: “Dear @JLo I wonder if you can accept my sincere apologies about the wrong tweet which was written by my assistant without my knowledge…
“I sincerely apologise to @JLo & her fans. I want to remind everyone it was NOT me who sent that wrong tweet! It was my assistant.”
Hmm, the doctor doth protest too much. Also, stop blaming your assistant! Poor assistant.
Jen has made it very clear in the past that it is important to stand up for yourself in the face of critics, telling Cosmopolitan: “Early on, my family really made me love who I was and what I looked like. My body was nothing out of the ordinary in my neighbourhood.
“When I first started on television, people, and even my own manager at the time, would tell me I had to make all of these changes.
“But you have to stand up and say, ‘There’s nothing wrong with me or my shape or who I aml you’re the one with the problem! And when you can really believe that, all of a sudden other people start believing too.”
Does that sound a woman who would ever go under the knife?
Flipping heck Dr Al-Ayoubi, you could have at least read her interview in the Latina's winter issue of Cosmo before letting your assistant tweet such outlandish statements!
