Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly telling everyone she knows to boycott the annual Vanity Fair Oscar party, which is always the most popular and A-list heavy party of the awards season.
The 41-year-old mother-of-two previously told her Hollywood friends to not participate or cooperate with any of the entertainment mag’s future features.
Gwyneth’s vendetta against Vanity Fair comes following the news that the magazine is planning to run a bombshell expose on her, which allegedly will expose all of the Oscar-winning actress’ deepest and darkest secrets.
“Gwyneth feels her relationship with the magazine has been destroyed and she’s urging pals not just to avoid doing business with the magazine, but to skip the mag’s Oscar party as well,” a source revealed to RadarOnline.
“To be frank, she wants to shut their Oscar party down entirely.”
By telling her celeb BFFs to shun the Vanity Fair Oscar party, the Iron Man 3 star isn’t just being defensive, but she’s sending a clear message to VF that she will not be bullied into submission.
Publicly Gwyneth has declared that she doesn't care what anybody else thinks, but privately the actress is said to have vowed that she will destroy the reputation of the monthly publication, as she has felt that the writers and their editor-in-chief Graydon Carter have waged a full-on war against her.
Many have speculated that the unauthorised profile on Gwyn will include her extramarital affairs, celebrity feuds and diva-like behaviour.
An alleged email from the Thanks For Sharing actress, which she supposedly sent out en masse, was leaked last week, stating: “If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again.”
But while Gwynnie has had some support from her fellow A-listers over the expose, supposed good friend Jay Z has since appeared on the cover of the mag.
Reportedly Julia Roberts is also ignoring Gwyneth’s plea and is siding with close friend Graydon and the publication.
Speaking of the fuss that’s being caused over the feature on the A-list actress, the controversial editor-in-chief said: “We wouldn’t be doing our job if there wasn’t a little bit of tension between Vanity Fair and its subjects.
“In any given week, I can expect to hear from a disgruntled subject in Hollywood, Washington, or on Wall Street. That’s the nature of the beast.”
But Gwyneth isn’t the first celeb to be the focus of Vanity Fair’s recent hard-hitting approach, previously they’ve printed inflammatory pieces about Tom Cruise and Scientology, as well as Brad Pitt’s struggles to produce World War Z.
It remains to be seen whether stars will be as eager and willing to support Vanity Fair in the future and whether they will still get the A-list attendance at their Oscar party, but one thing's for sure – there’s no way on earth Gwyneth will be there!
