It looks like Maddox has accidentally stumbled across one of the many articles written about Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie.
According to Now magazine, the curious 12-year-old read something about the three of them on his friend’s smartphone, compelling him to ask his mum to fill him in on who Jennifer Aniston is and why she’s linked to them.
“He went home and asked his mum: ‘Who’s Jen?’” A source revealed to Now.
“Angie was stunned and her natural reaction was to run out of the room.”
The Malficient star was reportedly stunned and horrified by her son’s questions, causing her to have a showdown with Brad over how to tell their little ones about the whole controversial affair.
The insider continued: “Angie went berserk and said he was stupid not to have explained it all to the kids before they read about it.
“In the end, Brad was forced to tell Maddox what happened.”
Reportedly Brad and Angie are incredibly protective of their brood of six children.
Brad even previously admitted: “On all their computers we had our names blocked. They can’t Google their mom and dad.”
As a result they’ve never had to address the Jennifer Aniston-shaped elephant in the room, but now Maddox is older it was only a matter of time before he found out about Jen and the whole controversy behind his parents getting together.
Maddox was just a little nipper when he first met his now-adopted father Brad Pitt, who was shooting Mr & Mrs Smith with his mum Angelina Jolie.
At the time, Brad was still married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston, but by the time filming wrapped there were rumours that the Hollywood heartthrob had fallen for his co-star.
Although the pair have always maintained that their romance didn’t start until he had split with Jen, their relationship caused a big showbiz scandal and the gossip mill went into overdrive over the whole affair.
Hopefully now everything is out in the open Brad, Ange and their brood of six can go back to life as normal.
