NOTE: We know that some of these are dye jobs, but in the spirit of fiction we're happy to go with it.
Vivian - Pretty Woman
There were three main characters in this movie. Julia Roberts, Richard Gere, and Julia Roberts’ INCREDIBLE hair. The moment she ditched her Carol Channing wig and embraced those big, bouncy curls was the moment we knew she was the hooker-with–a-heart-of-gold for us.
Dorothy - The Wizard of Oz
It wasn't just skipping across Oz with a scarecrow, a tin man and a cowardly lion that made Judy Garland an icon, it was reddish ringlet pigtails as well. Those bad boys are going down in folklore.
Rose – Titanic
You know at one point Rose was going to be offered to Gwyneth Paltrow?! It seems insane that Rose could have been BLONDE, since those red curls (soon turned red rat-tails post-iceberg) are one of the most memorable things about the movie. Other highlights include Leonardo DiCaprio's face and that cheeky iceberg that just wouldn't quit.
Satine - Moulin Rouge
This was the hair that EVERY teen redhead coveted. Waist length permanently perfect hair, PLUS Ewan McGregor is infatuated by you? Yes please and thank you.
Ariel - The Little Mermaid
Okay, her hair might be like, brick red but still, she’s a redhead Disney Princess so we’ll take it. We have Ariel to thank for many things, but mostly for proving that Prince Eric has a thing for redheads. Mmm, Prince Eric.
Miranda - Sex and the City
Miranda is a tough working girl with a fiery temper to match her locks and a no-nonsense attitude. She is the most sarcastic and cynical of the four friends, but is always there when one of them needs her and we guarantee her hair will always look PERFECT.
Giselle - Enchanted
Giselle is a fairytale Princess who learns she doesn't need to marry a Prince Charming after she is forced into the real world and meets divorce lawyer, Robert. But let's forget about the plot line and focus on the hair. It is the amazing embodiment of perfect cartoon hair after it comes to life.
Merida - Brave
She is a fierce, independent woman and THAT HAIR! It is the hair of a Scottish wild child, and we love it. It has to be the most impressive ginger mane in the list, in terms of velocity if nothing else.
Claire - The Breakfast Club
How could we miss out Molly Ringwald? Girl was THE Eighties redhead 'It' girl! Her most famous role as Claire from The Breakfast Club is also our favourite, proving that redheads can totally rock the pink (we guess she also proves this in Pretty in Pink).
Cady Hering – Mean Girls
“Is that your natural hair colour? It’s gorgeous.”
Amy Pond - Doctor Who
The Doctor might not have been a ginger just yet, but his companions certainly have been. Amy Pond's hair was freaking GORGEOUS, and they never shied away from making jokes at her expense. Remember when Van Gogh wanted to marry her?
"If we got married our kids would have had very, very red hair."
"The ultimate ginger."
Annie and Hallie – The Parent Trap
Double the ginger trouble. If you haven't watched this film at least half a dozen times and wished you had a ginger twin, you're doing something wrong.
Mary Jane – Spiderman
Forget Gwen Stacey, there's a reason everyone loves MJ the best.
Jessica - True Blood
Did we ever see a ginger vampire before Jessica? Can anyone think of a ginger vampire, seriously? If not, then Jessica is groundbreaking.
Olive Pendergast - Easy A
Sure Emma Stone might be a natural blonde but she rocks the redhead, and in no film better than Easy A. After gaining an unfair reputation at school after helping out a friend, Olive accepts her newfound notoriety by sewing a red 'A' to all of her "a high-end stripper" clothes. In short, Olive might just be the sexiest redhead on the list.
