1. Orlando Bloom is confirmed to be in POTC 5
Orlando Bloom is officially returned to the franchise in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales as the lovely Will Turner, who, if you had forgotten, is now the Captain of the Flying Dutchman. We were also treated to the synopsis, which sounds super creepy:
"Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas."
2. Our first image and a synopsis for Finding Dory
We found out what we have to look forward to from Finding Dory from those lucky enough to be at the ComicCon, as an official synopsis is still yet to be released. Apparently the plot follows Dory trying to find her family after remembering where they might in her sleep. In a clip debuted at D23, Dory asks if Marlin knows how far away California is (where she believes her family to be), and Marlin replies: "No, but I know a guy."
CRUSH? IS HE TALKING ABOUT CRUSH?!
The footage also showed Dory getting trapped in a Martin Life Institute, where she meets Hank the octupus as seen here:
3. Kristen Bell performing live as Anna
Ugh, she's so great. Why can't we be Kristen Bell?
4. A secret trailer premiere for Captain America: Civil War (though we have all the details)
"Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth," Tony Stark says to Steve Rodgers, and just like that, the Avengers are at war. Black Widow is fighting Hawkeye, and as he chokes her she asks: "we're still friends, right?", to which he replies: "depends how hard you punch." We also get a brilliant moment with Paul Rudd's Scott Lang/Ant Man, who is fangirling all over Captain America, saying: "I'm shaking your hand too long, right?" There is also a villain called Crossbones who fights Captain America, saying: "He remember you you know. Your pal, your buddy, your Bucky", and promptly put Twitter into a frenzy as seen below:
5. There's going to be a STAR WARS LAND at Disney World
"We're going to transport guests to a whole new planet...every encounter will bring more of the Star Wars story to life." You'll always be able to take control of the Millennium Falcon. Oh. My. Goodness.
6. And a Toy Story Land! *Faints*
The entire land will be made to look like Andy's back garden, and you will be 'shrunk down to toy size' upon visiting and will be able to ride the Slinky Dog and a tower Andy made from blocks roller coasters.
7. We heard a little more about the elusive Star Wars spinoff, Rogue One, along with a brand new image
The Theory of Everything's Felicity Jones stars in this stand-alone movie in the Star Wars Universe. Rumour has it that it will follow rebel fighters who are trying to steal plans for the Death Star, and the first image from the movie does look pretty intense!
8. We heard a little about Dr Strange
Not to mention a shout out from Benedict Cumberbatch! Eek!
9. We found out what Toy Story 4 is going to be about
“Each of the stories is a different genre,” Toy Story 1-3 director Lasseter said. “Toy Story 4 is a love story. It’s a love story between Woody and Bo Peep. Bo’s returned for Toy Story 4. Woody and Buzz head out to find Bo. It’s a very, very emotional story, and it’s very fun doing a story about [the two characters]."
10. We found out a little more about Disney's upcoming movie 'Gigantic'.
Gigantic is a Jack and the beanstalk tale, apart from the small twist that the giant is actually an eleven-year-old girl. We're intrigued. We also know that the music will be done by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez who wrote the hit music for Frozen. Get ready for another 'Let It Go'! 😱
11. Not to mention Pixar's 'Coco'
The upcoming Pixar original movie will focus on the 'Day of the Dead' festival, and what happens when a boy called Miguel realises he can speak to his long dead family members. Described as: “breathtaking, beautiful, and fun” by Lasseter, we're looking forward to this one!
12. We also got the first minute and a half of season 5's Once Upon a Time (squeal!)
'Guyliner' ahahahaha.
13. As well as the first image from the live-action Jungle Book movie
