Since the The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge went viral a couple weeks ago it has raked in millions of pounds worth of donations and proved that collective action can lead to some genuinely amazing results. But is this next stunt going a bit too far?
In an event supported by The Japanese Foundation for AIDS Prevention, Japanese porn stars have decided to merge a crazy stunt with charity by allowing people to squeeze their boobs and then donate to the "Stop! AIDS" fundraiser for AIDS research in Japan. Why the hell not?!
The event is aptly titled Boob Aid (creative) and the method for bringing out support is obviously rife with controversy. However, the participants seem pretty happy to be a part of it. Adult movie star Rina Serina told Tokyo Sports that she's "really looking forward to lots of people fondling my boobs, but I would be very happy if you would please be delicate.”
Twenty-one-year-old porn star, Iku Sakuragi, is also excited about the altruistic cause. "It’s for charity,” she says. “Squeeze them, donate money — let’s be happy!"
But we're a little torn.
As AIDS is a major concern for porn actors, it's wonderful to see members of that community come together to raise awareness and money. But should we ignore the gratuitous absurdity of the breast groping because it'll probably bring out a lot of people men and, in turn, raise a bunch of money? Or is the philanthropic effort overshadowed by the slightly pervy incentive?
