It's been a good six years since teeny-bopper Willow Smith introduced us to the art of hair whipping. And while the long-haired girls of the world may have been tossing their tresses in the faces of their short-haired counterparts ever since, there's a new trick for them to try. Allow us to introduce you to 'bun-dropping' - the latest and oddly satisfying hair trend taking over your Instagram feed.

As the founding member of Team: thin hair, I've been forced to resign myself to the fact I'll never quite resemble Rapunzel and I'm totally OK with that. Or rather I was before I discovered those blessed with mermaid-length locks have Instagram gripped with their latest party trick.

Enter: bun-dropping. Long-haired ladies everywhere are literally letting their hair down and slowing the footage down for the world of Instagram to admire and it's strangely mesmerising.
