Hand chains first became a popular part of accessory culture during the flapper era of the 1920's when they were called "slave bracelets." So appropriately named since the ring is chained to the bracelet, thus making it its "slave." The gorgeous trend got a resurgence in the 1970's when they were called "hand flowers," because they started incorporating all sorts of colours and stones into the mix. Now, hand chains are making yet another comeback and everything from massive rhinestones to simple chains are totally back in style.
