There used to be a time when wedding dresses had to be vintage chic, designer or tailor made, but not any more. H&M have created their first ever bridal frock and it's made from organic and responsibly sourced materials.
With a Grecian style, it has a pleated and decorated bodice with lots of drapery and pleats. In short it's a wedding dress dream. The wedding gown is part of their Conscious collection for spring/summer 2014. And this collection really puts the style in sustainability.
The upcoming Conscious and Conscious Exclusive collection are part of H&M's effort to make their goods more planet-friendly by using materials like organic cotton, recycled polysester, Tencel and even hemp. We're pleased to see they're applying their eco-friendly credentials to the bridal market.
Supermodel spokesperson for the campaign, Amber Valetta says: “This collection shows that you can be as mindful about people and the environment as fashion conscious. I simply love the designs and the fact that all the pieces are made with organic, recycled, and cellulose shows that you don’t need to compromise fashion for sustainability anymore.”
The H&M wedding dress is hitting stores in Europe this spring with a price tag of €79,95 - the UK price is TBC.
So whether you're on a wedding budget, an eco-bride journey or your dedication to the high street won't waver in the face of your wedding, H&M have answered your prayers.
All that's left to do is admire. Here she is. The ultimate high street wedding dress:
