When the news broke of Alexander Wang's handbag collaboration with Balenciaga we were all left eager to catch a glimpse of his designs.
At long last, the AW13 collection snaps have landed and there's not a rugged, wrinkly stud bag in sight. Mr Wang's gone all posh and polished on us. Who'd have thought it?
The new collection, dubbed 'Le Dix', is a real game changer for Wang - it features strong satchel shapes with a nod to Balenciaga's distinctly feminine style.
The name 'Le Dix' is an oh-so-chic reference to the original Balenciaga salon on 10 Avenue George V and the fashion house's first scent.
Wang's done away with all things low-key, trading in his studded bottoms and hobo drawstring fastenings for a sleeker approach to accessorising.
If you're into no-fuss fashion and zero decoration, this collection is worth a shop for a simple but very strategic statement with a nod towards the early '40s.
So far we're crushing on three of Wang's Balenciaga designs and we can't wait to see more from the Le Dix must-haves when they hit stores later this month.
We predict there will be a sea of front row style mavens with a camera in one hand and a Le Dix in the other come fashion week.
