As you read these very lines, 84,000 people around the world are having sex outdoors! Although bed remains the number 1 choice of location, we all fantasise about making amore in unusual places. The most common such fantasy is in a lift, but outdoors is a big attraction too...
To spice up your relationship
You can easily slip into a routine between the sheets. To get out of a sexual rut, some couples use sex toys, some get arty with stripteases and some even invite a third party into their bed (some people will do anything to spice things up a bit!). So why not experience the joys of the great outdoors? There's nothing like being at one with nature in a field full of flowers, haybarn or in the rolling waves. Clichéd as it may be, alfresco sex is a huge turn-on and can bring back your sex drive. As well as couples in desperate need of a bit of excitement, young couples who may be more daring, less worried about the risks or restrained by having to make love at their parents' house also enjoy the thrills of doing the deed outside.
The risk factor
But why? Your bed is far comfier than nettles, rough straw or sand, but it's not half as exciting because of the risk factor. Lust takes over your fear and mixes with a little bit of exhibitionism, producing some very special memories. But beware: if you're caught making out in the great outdoors, you could get yourself arrested for indecent exposure in a public place!
Advice
It would be a shame to ruin the magic moment through lack of preparation. Sure, there's nothing better than spur-of-the-moment sex, but you need to be practical. Advance planning can make you more comfortable and open-minded because you don't have to deal with hiccups...
- Choose your location wisely. In the heat of the moment, we're not always careful enough and the idyllic path into the woods far away from prying eyes could turn out to be a local beauty spot. Oops!
- Itchy grass, sand and insects can be big passion killers. Keep a sheet or blanket in your car or beach bag so you can get down to it in comfort!
- Emerging from the bushes glowing, with torn clothes and twigs in your hair is a safe giveaway. Bring a pack of tissues or wipes to freshen up a bit!
- If you're in the early stages of your relationship or you don't use permanent contraception, remember to bring condoms. It's pretty frustrating to have to stop at the crucial moment because you haven't got any protection!
