In a clip for the Downton Abbey special, a sketch for ITV’s Text Santa appeal, George appears to be taking the role of Lord Grantham as Cora tells him: “Dearest, Lord and Lady Carlisle have asked us over for dinner tonight.”
Perhaps this is all Cora’s dream? We all know we’ve fantasised about being married to George at some point!
According to Lady Edith actress Laura Carmichael, George also kisses the Dowager Countess (the one and only Maggie Smith) who ends up swooning. She said: “George plants a kiss and Maggie ends up on the floor, it’s wonderful. He was hilarious.”
