Yup, according to Conde Nast Traveler in the last year more people have died through selfie-related accidents than shark attacks. While there have been eight shark-related deaths, apparently there have been TEN accidents involving selfies which ended in death. It has gotten so bad that measures are being taken to prevent further selfie-related death, with Russia even launching a campaign with the slogan: "A cool selfie could cost you your life" to warn citizens to watch what they're doing.
Selfie deaths in the last year have included someone posing for a selfie with a lion, posing after pulling a hand grenade and a 21-year-old falling to her death after attempting to take a selfie while hanging from a bridge (smh).
In America, The Yellowstone National Park has even had to issue warnings after selfie takers were gored by bisons over the summer. So remember people, before taking a selfie just think: 'could this kill me?'. If the answer is yes and you want to live, let it go. Your friends on social media won't care anyway, we promise.
