It didn’t take long for Celebrity Big Brother to expose one contestant’s less than savoury opinions regarding homosexuality, and it looks like we already have a romance storyline of the series.
Lee Ryan and Casey Batchelor got very snuggly and couldn’t keep their hands off each other, despite cameras watching their every move, and Lee Ryan previously promising that he would never snog anyone whilst inside the house.
He said: “I’d never snog anyone on live TV. My kids would be watching.
“I find that really distasteful. I couldn’t kiss anyone when I know my kids are sitting in front of the TV, going: ‘Hi, Daddy!’”
Sigh.
Evander Holyfield has also caused a stir by expressing his opinions, which were not all that socially acceptable, in which he stated he didn’t think being gay was normal.
Whilst chatting to fellow contestant Luisa Zissman, she said: “I think it’s really bad that no one stands up and says it in the sporting industries. I think it’s good to be open about that because it’s normal.”
Evander replied: “What would be good about it? That ain’t normal. It is a choice, come on, that ain’t the way nobody is made.
“If you were born and your leg were turned this way, what do you do, you go to the doctor and get it fixed back right.”
Is anyone else facepalming right now?
The former Heavyweight boxing champion was promptly called into the diary room to be told off for expressing his homophobic views. Big Brother said: “Last night, in a conversation with Luisa, you expressed the view that being gay was not normal and that it could be fixed.
‘While Big Brother understands these are the views you hold, they aren’t the views that are held by a large section of society and expressing these views will be extremely offensive to many people. Do you understand why?”
He replied: “Yeah I understand why, I forgot about the thing. I was just telling her my opinion, but it’s not like I was gonna mention it to anybody else, that was just our conversation.”
What?! Does he not know he’s being permanently followed by cameras and the public can hear his every word? Argh!
Boy George has slammed Holyfield for his comments, tweeting: “Shame, I had such admiration for Mr Evander Holyfield, he seemed dignified and I was sure he was a cool, smart, giant!”
We did we Boy George. So did we.
