1. Sherlock
Benedict Cumberbatch took on the role of eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes in 2010 and people just can't get enough. He's filming series three now and we cannot wait - how did he survive that fall?
2. He refuses to accept his sex symbol status
When he was named Britain's sexiest man by The Sun, Benedict said: “I’m still processing this strange misperception.
“I suppose I’ll have to find a way to deal with the strain. I enjoy being considered handsome, even though I think it’s hysterical.”
3. He's gone all Hollywood
The actor of the moment has a whole host of Hollywood movies coming up for release.
He has The Hobbit franchise wrapped, the role of Julian Assange coming up and films in which his co-stars include Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender.
4. But he's still a goof!
He spoke to the Radio Times about his growing stardom: "Yeah, it’s kind of weird. But it’s to be enjoyed. I’ve punched well above my weight this year.”
He admitted finding it “weird” when he went from “quietly getting on with it” to becoming a huge global celebrity.
5. He's a gent
Just look at Zoe Saldana in this pic - he had just helped get her skirt out from being caught in her heels. Swoon.
6. His floppy mop
Benedict seems to have let his locks grow out a bit recently and we're loving it - what a natural curl.
7. He's a bit of a bad boy
We all love a bad boy, don't we?
Benedict spoke to Metro about missing out on a spot at Oxbridge: "Adolescence came late and I discovered girls, pot and all sorts of other things, so I got a bit lazy."
8. He's nice to his fans
Benedict has recently revealed he's not too happy that his fans have chosen to christen themselves "Cumberb*tches".
He said: "I won't allow you to be my b*tches, I think it sets feminism back so many notches. You are Cumberpeople."
9. He's just a bit posh
Having attended Harrow school he's got himself quite the accent and the posh pals. Check him out at a royal party.
10. One for the Trekkies!
He starred as legendary Star Trek baddie Khan in J.J. Abrams' remake Star Trek Into Darkenss in May this year.
