Guy Pelly will not be Prince George's godfather - Prince William's pal has officially denied the rumours.
Speculation reached fever pitch last week over the choice of Guy as the new royal baby's godparents.
It had been assumed and accepted that William's 31-year-old friend had been offered the role.
But now the bar owner and party man has come out to clear things up - it will not be him getting that honour.
He told the Mail: "People have been coming up to me and shaking my hand offering their congratulations all week.
"I've had to explain to everyone that I am not going to be a godfather. They have got it all wrong.
"I spoke to William yesterday about it and he confirmed I am not going to be one. And I want to set the record straight."
Guy continued: "William wasn't annoyed about people getting it wrong, just quite matter-of-fact that it should be put right."
With Guy's wild party-filled past some people were sceptical about the rumoured choice, but he's adamant that's not the reason he was passed up for the job.
He said: "I love babies and I have calmed down quite a bit socially now. I think I will be a very, very good godfather - one day at least. But it is their choice."
Sounds like a pretty awkward conversation there...
It remains to be seen who will take on this royal duty when Kate and William's son is christened in the Music Room at Buckingham Palace next month.
It's believed there will be six godparents in total - the parents' siblings are tipped for the honour along with their two best friends from their school days - Alicia Fox-Pitt and Thomas van Straubenzee.
With six spots you’d think Guy would get a look in!
