Cressida Bonas’ brother, whose name is – deep breath – Jacobi Anstruthur-Gough-Calthorpe, has voiced his concerns of the effect he thinks royal life could have on his sister should she become engaged to Prince Harry.
It has been rumoured that Harry is about ready to propose to the socialite and, if he does, this would make Cressida the second non-royal to marry into the family in the last couple of years, with Kate Middleton wedding Prince William in 2011.
However, 30-year-old Jacobi is growing worried about the amount of attention she would get if she was to become engaged to the young brother of Prince Charles, telling the Telegraph:
“Cressida is not a tough cookie at all. She’s a very sensitive, sweet girl.
“It’s challenging, you can’t deny it. It’s not something that is easy for anyone dating a royal or marrying into the Royal Family.”
He was referring, of course, to the intense media attention garnered by Kate Middleton since her marriage, and that he believes his sister would struggle with that level of attention.
Indeed, Cressie’s big brother admitted that there were different types of fame, but that Cressida would be thrown straight into the deep end.
He said: “On some level it is different to any other type of fame. It’s an invasion of privacy, which is hard.
“There are some people who court that but when you spend your life hiding from it, I think that becomes very exhausting. I think it’s a very difficult thing.”
He also admitted that it would be very difficult for his other sisters and himself as well, saying: “it does worry me. But sometimes you’ve just got to go along with life.”
Stop being such a misery guts, Jacobi! Your sister could become a princess!
Despite the fact that he is a paparazzi magnet, the Bonas family are a big fan of Prince Harry, and have made him feel like one of the family. A friend of Cressida revealed:
“Harry seems to love her family. They have really taken him under their wing.”
