Having a baby is the most amazing and natural thing in the world. And our bodies go through a hell of a lot to get there, including putting on some extra, and extremely necessary, lbs in the process - vital for the little baby's health. But what isn't so natural, and actually really bloody annoying, is the pressure to lose that extra weight so quickly once the bundle of joy arrives. Blake Lively has had enough and is speaking up for the rest of the mums out there. Go girl.
In an interview with Australian Sunrise, she was of course asked whether the gruelling physical schedule filming her new movie The Shallows helped her get back into shape after giving birth, cos Hollywood, and Blake responded in the best way.
She opened up about the 'unfair' fascination with baby weight, saying: "It's so unfair that it's so celebrated like, this is what someone can look like after a baby and I think a women's body after having a baby is pretty amazing.
"You don't need to be Victoria's Secret ready right away cos you just did the most incredible miracle that life has to offer; you gave birth to a human being - I would really like to see that celebrated."
Hear, hear! Blake's our kinda girl.
Already mum to daughter James with her heart throb hubby Ryan Reynolds, the pair are expecting baby number two, so let's just hope she's not feeling such pressure second time round.
