Last year the faux freckle industry took off in a big way and had people reaching for their DIY kits in order to freck themselves for a summer look all year round. So, it was only a matter of time before they took the original and put a twist on it. And the result? Rainbow freckles. Pioneered by makeup artist Dominique on Instagram who, judging by her photos, has been mastering the art of faux freckles for a while now.
And since starting off the trend, girls have been putting their own spin on Dominique's unique look:
The trend also follows hot on the heels of rainbow hair, bright eyebrows and bold lip colours. We gotta say, it's the fastest way to colour up a dull outfit.
The way to do them is simple: the fancy name for it is pointillism - as demonstrated by Kat Von D below - but in simpler terms it's just using a cotton swap to dot the vibrant makeup on to your face.
Girls are experimenting with all different colours: pink, blue, yellow gold. Choose the colour you want to represent you and simply dot it across your cheekbones, nose, around the eyes; wherever you wish your freckles to be.
Glastonbury... you better be ready!
