Emily Jones is teaching women everywhere to love themselves just the way they are thanks to her beautiful Instagram feed, which not only showcases her impeccable ability to create all variety of gorgeous makeup looks but also defies what defines 'beautiful'. The 22-year-old, aspiring makeup artist - who is fitted with a permanent feeding tube and is wheelchair bound due to rare autoimmune disease Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (type 3) which causes her joints to dislocate - is no ordinary influencer. No, Emily should be an inspiration to everyone due to her unwavering confidence and determination in refusing to let her medical condition obscure her hopes and dreams.
The London-based, social-media star creates stunning makeup looks on herself and photographs them from every angle, proudly displaying her feeding tube which is imperative to her health. What's even more impressive is that Emily only started documenting her skills on the photo-sharing app in March but she's already amassed almost 18K followers and has whipped up masses of support with many users praising her positive attitude in the comments.
"You're so pretty love everything about you," one user gushed with another adding: "You're so pretty! From one chronic warrior to another, you slay girl"
No look is too ambitious for Emily - she's experimented with everything from bold lips to glitter cut crease - and she hopes by documenting her work she'll one day fulfil her dream of becoming a professional makeup artist. Talking to Allure about the practicality of applying makeup around her food tube, she explained: "I create looks around my tube by leaving a little bit of a gap around the edges so the tape doesn’t come off or come loose.
"Make-up takes away the self-consciousness I feel because of my NG tube and makes me feel gorgeous. But the tube is a part of me, and I’m grateful for it and the nourishment it gives me when I can’t keep anything down myself."
