The beginning of summer is often a mix of excitement and anxiety over hot weather, chub rub, hungry shorts, and whether we can get away with wearing a crop top. But Miss Eaves is here to tell you: none of that matters. Squeeze that booty into some short shorts and take it to the streets to shake what your mama gave you. Now, you may say that there's too many body positive songs going round and, hey - you're not wrong. People really took that Meghan Trainor vibe and ran with it. But none have the bombastic beat of Miss Eaves.
The video for 'Thunder Thighs' features a gaggle of gorgeous ladies getting down on the streets of Brooklyn in their most thigh-tastic threads. Miss Eaves told Jezebel that the lyrics to this song come from a very honest place: "When I am writing music I want to honestly represent my experiences. I am not too concerned with writing about things that are on trend or popular… I want to come from a more genuine place. This track is really about me embracing my body but also finding the humor in issues thicker people face."
Miss Eaves - real name Shanthony Exum - is all about that body inclusivity. She also runs a style Instagram called 'The Every Body Project', which she says she started three years ago when she was 'having trouble finding style blogs featuring people who look like me." The page currently has nearly 4,000 followers.
So take a listen, put on yo' best cut-offs and let 'thick thighs, sundress, I'm looking good' be your body-poz mantra in this hot, hot heat.
