SPOILER ALERT!
Shirley is nervous to see her father, but acts like it’s fine, knowing how much her family need the money. However, she realises she can’t go through with it, leaving Mick and Tina to go alone. The two obviously have very different relationships with Stan, and Stan agrees when he sees Shirley from the window, but only if she asks. She goes inside and asks, but Stan manipulates her, bringing up the family. It’s clear that his words have hit a nerve.
Linda doesn’t want Stan to be the answer to their troubles, and worries about the problems they are facing at The Vic. She is forced to be polite when Sharon arrivals to see the changes they have made. However, Johnny cheers her up when he tells her how much money they could make from breeding Lady Di.
On their way to see Jim, Carol tells Max she’s going to tell him about her cancer. Max pleads with her not to.
