Mo’s scheme to make some cash selling dodgy hairspray fails, as Stacey and Alfie struggle to sell it. Seeing no way out of their financial situation, Alfie decides to go ahead with his plan to start a fire and claim on the insurance and he encourages Kat, Stacey and Mo to go to Sharon’s hen do with Whitney babysitting the twins. At the hen do, Kat struggles to enjoy herself as her mind is on the twins. With the house empty, Alfie goes to start the fire but he is forced to stop when Mick arrives and persuades him to go to Billy’s get together to plan Phil’s stag do. However, Alfie’s pride suffers another blow when they suggest a game of poker and he makes an excuse to leave. As he sits on Arthur’s bench contemplating what to do, Roxy approaches and although she tries to cheer him up, Alfie realises he has no options left and he returns to the Moon’s where he lights a cigarette and throws it into the bin.
Whilst Sharon feels overwhelmed about the wedding, Linda frantically organises her hen-do and she sends Sharon off to Blades to be pampered. Sharon soon arrives at the party in high spirits but after a few derogatory comments about Phil from a couple of the hens, it is clear she is not enjoying herself. Things take another turn when Linda reveals Sharon’s surprise. Linda is concerned when she sees Sharon slipping out of The Vic.
To escape the hen party Dean and Lauren organise a small gathering at Max’s but the tension is still strained between Lauren and Nancy. After initially declining the invite, Peter makes an appearance. Elsewhere, Carol struggles to readjust to life without her grandchildren and Bianca.
