The Beale household prepare a welcome home lunch for Peter. Curiosity gets the better of Ian and he starts to look through Lucy’s phone, however he is interrupted by the arrival of Lauren who has come to help prepare for Peter’s arrival.
Although hearing that Peter has missed his connecting flight, Ian decides to have the family lunch anyway. That afternoon, Ian tells Jane that he feels as though he never really knew Lucy at all and that she hated him. Jane decides to prove to Ian how much he meant to Lucy and starts to read Lucy’s text messages aloud. However whilst scrolling through, she stumbles upon an unsent message. Roxy is desperate to spend more time with Aleks and to make it up for being absent over the weekend, he buys her a dress intending to take her out for dinner. His wife Marta turns up in the Square and it’s clear they spent the weekend together. Marta spots the dress and Aleks gives it to her pretending it was going to be a surprise. He sends Marta home and says he’ll see her soon. Aleks buys another identical dress for Roxy and during their night out, Aleks is horrified when Marta sees the pair together from across the bar.
Denise decides to take the day off of work to spend time with Patrick, leaving Shabnam in charge of the Minute Mart. Two inspectors un-expectantly turn up and ask to take a look at the books and do a stock take, making Shabnam very nervous. Masood finds out what is happening and asks Denise to go to the shop however she refuses.
