We've been thinking long and hard about anything that we love more than wine, and we're still stumped. Not Christmas, not our pets, not payday. Possibly our mums. The point is, you just can't beat a cold glass of rosé at any time of the year, but especially this time of year. That's why the news that our fave pink wine has been given a cool update in the form of frosé has totally made our year.
Frosé, or frozen rose as it's also known, is the coolest new cocktail on the block. It's made up of a blend of rose, lemon juice and sugar, then popped into the freezer for six hours until frozen. Garnish with mint leaves and there you have it - super easy if you fancy making your own at home. It's one hundred percent Instagrammable too, case in point: these mouth watering versions exploding over our feed...
Thanks to our nation's growing love for nostalgia, anything that remotely takes us back to the nineties is a winner in our eyes, so this alcoholic revamp of the strawberry slush puppy we were obsessed with back in the day, is a must do.
It seems our love affair with rose ain't showing any sign of waning any time soon either. The Daily Mail reported that sales of our fave pink wine have trebled in the past decade, with every one bottle in ten being rose. And frosé is looking to become just as popular too, already becoming The Beaufort House bar in Chelsea's best selling drink after adding it to its menu earlier this month - perfect if you don't fancy going DIY.
Better stock up on hangover food as well as bottles of the pink stuff on your next supermarket run, 'cos I can feel our wine headache coming on already...
Will you be sippin' on frosé this summer? Let us know @SofeminineUK!
