Known for her amazing coffee art, Maria has really outdone herself (we didn't think it was possible) with her latest project.
The project is appropriately named ‘Art on Cakes’, (she needed a team of marketing gurus for that one) and sees some of the most famous paintings recreated on a series of stunning cakes.
In collaboration with the Vienna Boutique Cake Gallery, Aristidou created her appetising masterpieces in Cyprus. She begins by baking the boutique’s signature chocolate cake recipe, then covers the cakes in a sugar paste and starts duplicating the paintings with edible paints. A process that takes Maria 6 to ten hours, minus the baking time.
The hours are truly worth it as the results are just AMAZING! The girl has some serious skill, we struggle to ice a cake.
Girl Before Mirror : Pablo Picasso, 1932
The Scream : Edvard Munsch, 1893
The Starry Night : Vincent Van Gogh, 1889
The Persistence of Memory: Salvador Dali, 1931
