Celebrity adoptions: Stars who adopt a child

Celebrity adoptions have become increasingly common over the years and despite some people's reservations, a lot of celebs believe it's the right thing for their families.

The reasons for adoption range from single parenthood - like in the case of Ricky Martin - to difficulties getting pregnant and sad miscarriages - like Hugh Jackman's wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

Others seem to make the choice so they can offer a child a second chance, to overcome the circumstances they were born into.
